His first term was bad enough, but I guess his voters hadn't suffered enough. The recent elections were heartening (including in my part of New York!), but then today he lost it yet again with his heinous threats and attacks.

I often think of the presidents in my lifetime and no one, not even Republicans, were even close to his insanity and departure from the rule of law. Those of us who cringed when we learned about the governmental abuses in other countries are getting a taste of it now. There are times when I find it hard to believe.

I remember enough of Nixon to realize that he was done when his own party turned against him, and I kept waiting in vein for that to happen now. We keep hearing that his health is failing, but I can't help hoping against hope that he sees the inside of a jail cell before he leaves us for good.
