It is not about "left" and it is not about "right". It is about voters wanting to support leaders with real plans. Voters will almost always back the candidate who is more specific and tangible about their plans over the one who s vague and slippery. This is true even if the plans seem really stupid ( "I'll build a magic wall" ) or the candidates are objectively real ignoramuses. People want leaders, even bad leaders. They don't want people who just talk around every issue with a bunch of words that mean nothing.

What bold idea did Cuomo bring to this campaign? I can't think of a single one. His only idea is that his opponent is a young snot-nosed commie sympathizer. People just don't want to hear that about Mamdani, about AOC or about anyone else. They want the politicians to present solutions, and they will go with bad, implausible solutions if that is the only thing on the table.

Harris' most tangible idea was something about first time home buyers. Biden's most tangible idea was something about scrapple in Scranton. Mamdani is talking real things like public transportation, rent controls and many other very tangible ideas that affect millions of constituents.
