This year's garlic crop looks like it will be terrific [View all]

LOTS of very thick stalks. I read that the perfect time to pull it is when the leaves are dried about 1/3 up the stalk, and that seems to always be a good measure. From what I see I think it needs another day or two before it's really ready to pull. Yesterday I pulled a couple and they are definitely useable, but I can tell it's not quite optimum.

I'll probably start pulling some in the south facing garden this weekend. The north facing stuff always needs a few more days but it's definitely getting there.
