Cooking & Baking

For the past 30 years, my wife has been Linus on the Peanuts float. She and her colleagues have to start at 5:00 am and they won’t finish till noon so I’m the cook.

Dinner will be roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, sweet and regular mashed potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts and green beans. Various wines. Dessert is being brought and will be pumpkin and apple pies with vanilla ice cream.

Our guests will include her colleague (Charlie Brown), my former brother-in-law and his fiancé (I love this man!), the fiancé’s daughter who is a sommelier (guess who’s bringing the wines!) and one of my oldest friends from high school.

Total budget = $150. Of course, there will be lots of leftovers for everyone.

It’s one of our most enjoyable holidays and we don’t intend to let any politics ruin it for anyone, (everyone is liberal, ‘natch).
