It sounds like you are in good hands with your oncologist and I like her attitude...and yours. That is a good thing.
I do understand your concern about your daughter and grandchildren, it is hard for them, I know. When we came to say goodbye to my brother in law my nieces kids were pretty young. I sat at the kitchen table with them and we colored lots of pictures for their granddad. Your great niece's are older but having lost one of their great-aunts is still a hard loss for them
Also there is your sister that depends on you and as hard as it is this time is about you.

my epal had breast cancer a few years ago. just lumpectomy + chemo i think. it reared back w/ a vengeance. a cough

There have been strides in inproved breast cancer treatment. Catching it early is a great start.
