3. Perhaps, seems like it would be cheaper to build them in China instead of paying higher wages in Canada

Most of the parts would still come from China, so the shipping wouldn't seem to be a significant advantage.

I suspect if the tariffs stay, that General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis plants will face cuts in production and layoffs.
