ready for Sci-Fi ... and Spock started singing. And soon they were all singing and dancing. It was the lowest point ever in Star Trek. It actually ruined my night.

When SNW is good, it's among the best. But, they know how to be bad.

Discovery sucked starting with season 3. It was tedious at points. I barely made it.

Lower Decks was surprisingly excellent and thoroughly entertaining. Killed off for no good reason.

Trek is at its best when it exposes and comments on the present human condition as seen in other worldly contexts. It's at its worst when Spock takes dancing lessons. There's only 16 more episodes, and they will waste a lot of time with Spock's love life.

I vaguely remember slash. That was pre-internet fan-fiction, yes? People had some weird ideas that Kirk and Spock were lovers. Perhaps it was one of those parallel universes. There are so many.
