November is that time - to find a calendar for the coming year! [View all]

Have to have two calendar types - one wall, for next to the loo medicine cabinet where the morning view is inescapable, one booklet/desk for doctor's appointments & daily glucose readings. In different years one or the other or both have posed their separate obstacles - the wall, shopping madness in local retailers to find variety pics tolerable for the whole year. And the booklets, weekly view and no decoration and cheap. The bigger stores sometimes zoomed in prices for the booklets, with the greentree outlets not having sometimes, but have found something each year. If some English Major wants to write my biography, there's a box of the yearly booklets with appointments, repairs, visits out of town covering 30 or so years - what to do in the end phase of downsizing and divesting of life junk.

With the wall, the main issue is finding striking pics tolerable throughout a year. Several years ago I gave up on the local outlets and do the selecting online. The main attraction is visual beauty. Pleasing choices in recent years: New Orleans sights, Tuscany (home of the Etruscans), architectural wonders.

Automatic rule-outs: Generic landscapes, cute pets that are available everywhere and repetitive, tourist views available on postcards, pretty much any other categories imaginable.

Last year ended up with a Tiffany stained glass one, and looks like this year will be another one, here:
