Yeah I don’t get the “hallucination” thing either ..how is it a hallucination when junkware/bloatware (lets call most “ai” what it truly is) spits out junk? Deceptive use of language. I guess “hallucinations” has a cooler ring to it than “shitty software spits out garbled drivel”.

If those foul things are learning dark patterns it’s from the morons peddling them. No wonder they lie!

I’d call something true ai if in a few interactions with a user like me, it learnt to disable itself and fuck off 99.99999999% of the time and only stayed if it was something analogous to the NIH’s ImageJ or was say NIST certified.
Oh wait..NIST doesn’t exist anymore .
But NIST, Yan LeCun ..these rare cases aside (where it could be genuinely respectable real science) that field is drivel.
