Now, my interpretation may be wrong; I've always thought it meant someone was in too much of a drug haze too often to keep track of things, and events.

I didn't take drugs at that point (light, occasional weed user in the '70s. Fun!). I remember a whole lot; the good, and the bad!

I was 7 years old in 1960. Some of you were older by 3 - 8, or so yrs.

The bad: The Cuban Mussle Crisis, 1968 assassinations, Nixon's election, George Wallace, The squashing of The Prague Spring, the injuries, deaths, during The Civil Rights struggles. The Vietnam War.
Our Antl-War demonstrations. [they were good that we did them, but bad that we had to]

The good: The best of JFK. The Beatles. Then the whole British Invasion (big Who fan 😄 ), and subsequent America response. The Mod fashions. Us girls, women fighting for, and getting more rights. Mercury & Gemini Missions. The Moon landing! The environmental movement emerging.

(Yawn, late here. Maybe more tomorrow.
👍 )
