Pick up a spice mix called Spike and mix the saffron in with that and make some roasted potatoes with it. That's my favorite way of using it. I also liked it in cream of chicken soup. Don't use a lot of it, just one or two threads ( stigmas) smashed with a mortar and pestle.

The original Spike years ago used to have saffron in it. When they stopped to cut costs ( thinking no one would miss it) I got the bulbs and grew my own because it was the saffron in the mix that made it so good.
