STL County council rejects Charlie Kirk resolution [View all]

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/stl-county-council-rejects-charlie-035536529.html

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. – Tuesday night, in a 5-2 vote, the St. Louis County Council voted against a resolution honoring the life and legacy of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.

Those against it said they felt some of Kirk’s past comments disqualified him for the recognition and also said they felt it was inappropriate to elevate an unelected official with such an honor.

After an extended period of public comments, the council voted 5-2 against the resolution.

Missouri is "deep red" - St. Louis proper may not be, but the county is. I think trying to make kirk a martyr for their cause is going to backfire - too many people will be exposed to his extremism and will not find it acceptable.
