I do not know how to create an original topic and post, so, I am piggy backing. Anyone who can explain the process of starting a topic for discussion please HELP ME.

Anyway, I am posting as a reply the letter I sent last week to the Chairwoman of the DCCC, with cc's to my Congressman and Senators.
Thank you for your patience.

Dear Ms. DelBene,

For many years I have been receiving petitions, questionnaires and requests for funding from the DCCC, I assume this is based on my lifelong voter participation, from the age of 21, when I voted for Adlai Stevenson for President.

I have been a life long Democrat and have served on my local, Sonoma County CA Democratic Central Committee. My experience during that service on the committee was that expensive paper mailings DO NOT WORK! Even I, as a political participant do not open the political mailings, be it from the DCCC, local, state or -most obnoxious- out of state politicians. I have even purchased and utilized a “RETURN TO SENDER” stamp, unfortunately the USPS returns 95% of these mailings to me!

My assessment of the situation of the Democratic party-from the top down is lack of an aggressive program. Advertising should be highly visible in public venues.

Billboards,
Signs on trucks in communities, shopping centers,
Advertising to captive audiences in movie theaters, sports stadiums,
Small give away items: handy inscribed letter openers, key chains, nail clippers, emery boards, pens, email address books and similar small, inexpensive handy items, even kitchen pot holders and dispensers for BBQ sauces!

Door to door is obviously the very best out reach and the most difficult to staff, so let’s move on to:

Programs designed and executed to enroll new young voters should be created, funded and implemented. My plan would:

Offer college credit to High School Seniors who participate in a credit earning Civics course, which would transfer the credits to a local college or junior college, or a college to which the student has been accepted.
And a voter registration opportunity tied to the Civics course. A Civics instructor from the local college or junior college would be contracted to run this program.

So, there you have it from a lifelong Democrat and proud American who is terrified at the path our country and my party is stumbling on. Get tough, playing nice is not going to defeat the Republican party that has surrendered to fascist, demented Donald Trump!

A favor, if possible, can you remove me from the mailing list? Thank you…
