It must not be allowed to happen.
Democrats can still make a difference, if they ALL just did the right thing. No more arms to Israel.
I'll assume you are asking your questions in good faith. The answer would be yes to both if I were an American voter, but I am Canadian. I'm pretty sure I would have voted for Harris, despite my strong opposition to the Democrats' Gaza policy. I know for sure I would not have voted for Trump!! I keep saying though, that I UNDERSTAND why Muslims/Arabs might have voted differently or not voted at all. Not that I agree with it, but I understand it. It's not that hard, they are merely human too and you just have to put yourself in their shoes... The problem was the policy and not the voters who disagreed deeply with it. And it's not just any policy but support of an ongoing genocide - some people could not step over those nearly 50,000 bodies to get to the voting booth. I wish Biden could have been convinced to change course and Harris could have separated herself more from his policy.
Yes, I do have black female friends amongst my very small social circle. For years. As I have other minority and ethnic friends. I've always been progressive, ever since I was a small kid. A white ethnic-minority kid in a sea of WASP Canadians in the '60s - speaking broken English with an accent to boot and fresh off the "boat". I learned to be more comfortable with other minorities and "outsiders" and to champion the "underdogs" and powerless. Like Palestinians.
I hear you about minorities under the Regime. Trump wants to rewrite history, erase black history. First the Smithsonian Museum of Black History and now curriculum in some states. It's vile and shameful. I can't understand why he got more of the black vote than in 2020. It's kind of similar to the Muslim/Arab vote, isn't it, in that regard - voting against your own interests? Thankfully we don't bash black voters for that. We shouldn't bash Arabs/Muslims either - or gleefully throw FAFOs their way. That's just my opinion of course.
