they were the truly innocent and God loving children and God just wanted them with him before they became soiled by the world.

Can't be that it was climate charged atmosphere ( warm the atmosphere, more water is retained ) combined with a regularly occurring weather pattern / geologic interaction ( hill country funneling all the rain water into a river ), coupled with a total lack of technology and awareness by the bible study camps full of children. Camps that were placed right next to the river by truly idiotic people. Nope, can't be that.
