Abstract
Recently, important new evidence came to light about Joseph Adams Milteer, the Georgian who, nearly two weeks before the assassination, was recorded on tape talking about a pending plot to shoot the president from a tall building with a rifle that had been taken apart to get it inside. The new evidence confirms long-standing concerns that J. Edgar Hoovers FBI failed to adequately investigate the murder of President Kennedy. Since the FBI was the principal investigative arm of the Warren Commission, the evidence also is an endorsement of those who have criticized the Warren Reports finding that there was no conspiracy, foreign or domestic, behind the assassination.
