3. In casual use, I like DuckDuckGo to get a general idea without giving google the hits

... and then one of the specialized google sites to do a deeper dive. I mainly would use AI for extremely esoteric tech questions (e.g., db indexing errors/problems), but I prefer not to engage with it at all unless there is nothing else left that I can find on my own. I've found that in case like I mentioned above, there's not a large dataset the AI can plunder/examine for answers, and in trying, it will at best produce nonsense or non-useful results.
