(68,102 posts)38. For those who couldn't stomach resting it, I will report back:
1. They're racist and don't want immigrants coming to the U.S. Too much empathy for the poor and needy leads to welcoming immigrants.
2. They're bigoted against LGBTQ and other people they don't like and don't want people to feel empathy for them.
3. They're worried that their womenfolk might be inclined toward empathy (because women are good nurturers but not very bright) so they're doubling down on why empathy is bad. Get those women back in line.
I admit that I stopped reading at that point. I imagine it's mostly about money, at the core. It usually is with right wing evangelicals.
