Yes, privatization was obvious, yes, only the rich got a good education, regulations were thrown in the trash bin. I worked rebuilding machinery in a factory, and some of the things I did were really unsafe, there was no OSHA. Women were not allowed to work in the factory, only in the office. After that episode I made sure that my Chilean friends knew where I stood. They had a gesture they used when a drink was good, they slid their hand from the top down of their neck, meaning, good. They also slid their hand from the bottom of the neck up signifying puking. Many times I said Bush (W) while sliding my hand from the bottom up.
