Find your warranty. I would be surprised if the installer did not have some kind of guarantee, and I would be even more surprised if the manufacturer didn’t. Read through it and see where you stand.

Call the first guy and explain what’s going on. If he agrees to come out and work on it, great. If he doesn’t, and it looks like he is not living up to whatever warranty he gave you, then just make one firm demand that he makes it right.

It could be an installation issue, which is on him. Or maybe it is a problem with the unit itself, which would be on the manufacturer. Either way, somehow you have to find out what’s going on. So he may have to look at it, you may have to get someone else to look at it and give you a quote, etc.

Document document document everything!
