In reply to the discussion: Gavin Newsom says Democrats need to stop looking for a savior on a 'white horse' [View all]Canada Kid
(134 posts)107. Listen to Newsom!
The guy is right! Democrats are going nowhere! Trying to paddle around with the oars out of the water. After all this time since the election, they are still licking wounds, keeping silent, seemingly have no platform going forward, nobody stepping forward with intent to lead. What the hell is going on? Democratic Americans are feeling quite lost, maybe let down and even betrayed by the lack of any concrete response to all the anarchy we face on a daily basis. This forum seems to be the only "voice" ringing out in support of Democrats. The lack of comments on this site from any prominent Democratic politicians is blinding! What gives?

OP
Sounding this desperate three years before the primaries is not a good sign for Newsom. Nt

Exactly. Plus, Dems have done very well with charismatic presidents (JFK, Clinton, Obama).

Yes, Newsom may just talk himself out of the nomination. He needs to think before he speaks. n/t

Democrats make up only 30% of the electorate. You have to convince the 40% who are not

Well, the party did not screw up. Joe's son died horribly of a brain tumor & Joe was gutted....

Lincoln's 11 year old son died when he was in office and I'm sure he was gutted as well.

Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris both lost by one percentage point and Biden won by less than 1%.

Having 0 rallies in WI is in no way the same as having a few more rallies for White People.

Right! I'm from Washington State and wouldn't know a presidential rally if it bit me on the ass.

Then he should start a movement instead of starting primary season 3 years early. He doesn't care about Americans...

By 2028, after Trump has left the country in smoldering ruins, people probably won't be looking for a savior.
