I went to my college homecoming this past weekend and had a good time, although I missed the football game since I was feeling short of breath on Friday night when I went to bed. It rained on Friday night, then was dry for the festivities on Saturday until around 8 p.m. in the evening. They also tried some new events such as a vintage car show and miniature golf, plus rededicated one of the historical buildings that had a $25 million renovation. There is a lot of other construction occurring such as the construction of two new dorms, a new admission center, and football stadium on campus.

I also learned that one my friends who is about ten years younger will be starting a job on campus as Director of Greek Life. He was a voice major in college and teaching music in a Montessori school for most of the time afterwards so this will be a great opportunity to change careers. The added benefit is that the children of faculty and staff can to attend tuition free while still living at home. With three children, that could amount to almost a million dollars by the time the youngest would be ready to graduate.
