He will only get worse and more abusive because it won't make him happy.

He constantly fixates on some award, prize, deal, or even election, hoping each thing will make him happy. But NOTHING works and he just gets more abusive because he didn't get to open the box of happy he was hoping for.

Never occurred to him to try therapy to get to the root of his misery, so he tries to feel bigger and better by making others' lives hell. But even that doesn't work. He doesn't get that owning, winning by cheating, painting everything gold will NEVER fill the void where a human spirit should be.

And he keeps taking it out on the world. He needs to be in an institution for the criminally insane, because he is.
