People have to be taught to embrace misogyny, racism, classism ( which is the idea that a person's value and character can be judged by how much money they do or don't have, what they do for a living, where they can afford to live, et.) .
Wrong wing media is a megaphone for this kind of poison, blasting it out everywhere, especially in rural areas that don't have good internet connections.
When people are taught these kinds of toxic beliefs by their family and friends, and/or the people they are surrounded by each day, they find support and reinforcement from their local media outlets. The results of this toxic swill are what is really poisoning our country, not the immigrants who are being blamed.
This is also why the promoters of the truly evil Project 2025 are attacking DEIA guidelines, banning books, defunding education and museums, suing anyone who speaks out against their hate, ripping off public taxpayer funds, etc, ad nauseum. They know they have to keep brainwashing enough people who will support their agenda and simultaneously silence and persecute anyone who speaks out against them.
We desperately need an actual liberal media to get our message out to enough people. It's not our messaging that is inadequate, it is that we don't have a big enough megaphone to counter the flood of lies.
Also, poison goes where poison is welcome. There are people who can never be reached, because they welcome the poison of hate and bigotry. The people we need to reach are the people who can grasp the concept that we all do better when we all do better. The belief in scarcity of money and goods needs to be counteracted. It is a myth, along with the myth that the wealthy are better and more virtuous than the rest of us.
