And I've spent time in NC since my grandmother moved to a retirement community in Black Mountain so I spent a lot of time there. It really is beautiful country and I got to know a lot of her friends there since my grandmother asked me to join the peace group she joined on a trip to the USSR on their initial visit to their "sister town." They were mostly decades older than I was, but I came to love them all and sure learned a lot from them, besides having a once in a lifetime experience. And since those were the friends I made, I have trouble thinking of NC as a Republican state. But I do understand since I live in a Republican district here in New York. *sigh*
