Even Indiana has a free tuition program available for students remaining in State. 2 of my granddaughters went to public universities with free tuition via 21st Century Scholars. The 3rd went to a private Indiana college and was given the equivalent of the public university tuition.
I'd be more impressed if Bernie was pushing policies to fund and improve K-12 education. That would be the more progressive approach. It doesn't help poor and minority students if they aren't prepared to enter college.
