Bernie has definitely lost his bid. There's no reasonable doubt about that. However, elements of his agenda (and I think we may be on the same page anyway) have awakened a national sub-consciousness that suspects we can have a more fair society or at least not have to tolerate the blatant injustices endemic to unchecked wealth inequality. This hasn't been talked about much by the Democratic party since Johnson, if my recollection is not too cloudy. There's a baby in that bath water.
