Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: What are Bernie's plans? [View all]Aquaria
(1,076 posts)In several states where I've lived, we held our primaries so late that the nomination was locked up by the time we got to vote. I didn't cry about it like a spoiled baby and insist that time and resources be wasted on a loser. I pulled up my big kid pants and went to vote, anyway, even though I knew who the nominee was.
That's because not everything is about a sore loser candidate or his sore loser supporters. There are other, even more important things to still vote for in a primary, like the candidates for Congress rep, Senator, state legislators, county officials, city council and more. They matter too, you know.
So you're not losing your vote in the least.
No, you want to pretend that your candidate didn't get his ass handed to him in short order, but that if you whine enough, you'll get the candidate you want. And it doesn't work that way.
Your savior lost. Get over it and go vote for the downticket people who still remain to be decided. Or don't. It wouldn't surprise me if you berners took your toys and went home for the rest of the election season, to show us a thing or two. Little do you comprehend that all you'd do is confirm that many of us were right that the Democrats were better off not counting on berner votes. Far better to secure the party's base of women and minorities, and try to peel off as many of those suburban soccer moms as we can.
Because they, you know, are reliable voters. Unlike berners.

primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
