Ann Arbor clerk responds to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's complaint about long voter lines [View all]

ANN ARBOR, MI – U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, campaigned with Bernie Sanders in Ann Arbor just before the Michigan presidential primary last week.

In an interview on Fox News two days after Sanders lost the state to Joe Biden, the congresswoman complained about voter suppression, citing hours-long lines of University of Michigan students trying to vote in Ann Arbor as an example.

"I think one thing that isn’t being talked about is the rampant voter suppression in this country,” Ocasio-Cortez said in response to a question about why Biden was winning.

"Right there in Ann Arbor where we had that rally, those kids were waiting three hours in line to vote in Michigan.”
