5. It seems that "making a jack-ass" of yourself is the only way to get media attention these days.

The media are an "entertainment industry" primarily. They are not "educators." They prefer disasters, such as mass murders, hurricanes, wildfires, and Trump. The more outrageous the better! We might even get a Trump/Palin republican ticket. Some clueless voters would vote that ticket to "stir things up."

I respect O'Malley for working hard in a culture that is more interested in easy answers, immediate satisfaction, and sound bites. He kind of goes against the grain. I like that. He brings new leadership by relying on good old fashioned values and principles that were the foundation of his education and upbringing.

I especially like the way O'Malley emphasizes the "common good" in a society that is addicted to narcissism and self-enhancement at the expense of others. Trump represents all that is alienated and broken about our society.
