Since the Michigan Board of Electors has already deadlocked, along partisan lines, the recount is supposed to start on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week (i.e., December 7th or 8th).
Under a provision of law related to the electoral college vote, the recount would have to be completed by Dec. 13, six days before the electoral college is scheduled to meet.
HOWEVER, Republican Attorney General Bill Schutte brought a lawsuit this morning to halt the Michigan recount, alleging that (1) Jill Stein is not an "aggrieved" candidate entitled to a recount, because she only got a little more than 1% of the vote; (2) there isn't time to complete a recount; and (3) a recount would cost Michigan taxpayers millions of dollars and would put Michigan voters at risk of being disenfranchised in the electoral college."
MICHIGAN (AND OTHER) VOTERS, PLEASE E-MAIL ATTORNEY GENERAL SCHUTTE

Subject Heading: I Support the Recount
To Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette:
I am writing to express strong support for the recount of votes cast in Michigan in the recent presidential election, inasmuch as (1) Michigan voters deserve to have the integrity of ALL OF THEIR VOTES verified; (2) the Board of Electors has indicated that they have sufficient time to perform the recount, if they are not interfered with; and (3) Ms. Steins campaign has paid for all of the costs of the recount.
Further, I strongly oppose your eleventh-hour attempt to block or impede this recount, which is clearly not motivated by any genuine desire to protect the voters of Michigan, but by your own thinly veiled craven attempt at political gain.
Sincerely,
