No guards at the gate recently so people have been getting in free. I dunno with the latest restrictions, though.

I can get in free with senior pass (got it when it was only $10) and veteran's ID. Free entry when you enter via YARTS bus. Stops from Merced to the park (and senior discount)

Higher roads are closed, but the bus only stops in the valley. Free shuttles there.
