I severed my main artery and the wrist. My parents weren't home so I made it to my neighbors, rang the bell, abd passed out at the door step. We didnt have a formal rescue squad yet some heighbors (husband and wife) applied a tourniquet, wrapped my arm in bath towels and rushed me to the hisiptal about 30 minutes away. I nearly bled to death by the time we arrived. I recall being very cold (shivering) initially the i started to lose vision and couls judt see solid gray. I guess i calmy asked my neighbor who was holding me in her lsp if I was going to die and she said " I don't know honey, I don't know". The cold turned to a feeling of warmth and a feeling of calm. I was now seeing a bight white. I have a cague nemory of heing wheeled into the emergency and voming to during the surgery as they stabilizes me.
