1. I suspect this is the penultimate chapter of manned space flight.

China will maintain a human presence in space for a few years after the International Space Station is de-orbited, maybe even land a few people on the moon, and that will be the end of it... possibly forever.

If our current civilization survives, and the forces of anti-intellectualism don't snuff out our curiosity, we will continue to explore the solar system with our robots. There's really no good reason for anyone to do that in person.
