Current Generative AI is ELIZA on steroids... able to "learn" how to respond by ingesting and relating huge ( and I mean really huge ) amounts of data and then doing exactly ( more or less ) what Eliza did in 1967... trying to emulate a conversation by predicting the next word or set of words that match your query. But it does not "think".
