In the Company of Cards, Ericka, a few notes June 15 reading [View all]

Bday Boy Blues, No Kings Consequences

I watched part of this reading and wanted to write about a few of the things she mentioned:

Question is:

1. How is the birthday boy feeling?

Answer: he got his party so he was happy. He's not feeling his best. He has heart trouble.

Today, the day after, he is better, having been shown some love.

Regarding feelings from the public, he doesn't understand why people don't like him. It isn't something he's going to spend much time on, though. "Turn the page, on to the next thing."

-------------------
The last paragraph is why I wanted to post this. His not dwelling on anything, such as why people don't like him, is something I have heard other readers say about him.

One of the other readers, I believe it was Corina, started to get inside his head and ran away fast. I think she said his head is full of misperceptions and unimportant stuff--garbage. She said she couldn't stand being there, not even for a second.

One time I saw him on television and started to tune into what was in his mind. I ran, too. No, just no. Not ever gonna' go there. The feeling I got was that I avoided a mud puddle.

If no one liked you, wouldn't you sorta' question it? I mean, if it were a few people, OK, fine. Not a big deal. But when massive numbers of people come out and claim they dislike you--even hate you--as a leader, wouldn't you think there would be a little soul searching? Not with him. Millions came out to express their POV and he gives it a few second's notice and is ready to move on to the next thing.

I know it's totally to be expected from a narcissist, but I still find it remarkable.

Ericka's next question is how will the No Kings demonstrations affect the political landscape?

Answer: It will force Democrats to be more decisive. They have to present a clear path.

For republicans, it will be a question: fish or cut bait. Do we cut him loose?

There's more but that's all I watched.
