The Guardian and BT Sport's Rafael Honigstein said earlier in the year that Klopp would only want to go to a "people's club" in England, mentioning Liverpool by name (as opposed to, say, Chelsea). Clearly the deal was agreed before Liverpool sacked Rodgers.

Seems like an excellent appointment.
