Birders

When I was up in the hills they were everywhere. They throw maned wood ducks out of holes in trees so they can nest there; every tv antenna in the street was bent or broken. After summer the cockatoos would bounce and swing on them like demented gymnasts; I suspected they were eating fermented fruit and became a bit drunk.

They are always playful but seemed to be worse at summer's end.
