EVs produce less pollution, Other than from not burning gas or diesel. There is also a big drop-off in brake dust. This is thanks to regenerative braking. I saw an article from the famous car advice people that brakes are lasting a lot longer in cars with that type of braking.
One downside is that tire wear pollution is up because the cars are heavier. This stuff gets washed into streams and rivers.
