about the story to answer your questions. I probably should read it again one of these days, because it was a very complex story. I enjoyed it and was troubled by it at the same time.

I'm sorry that I couldn't help. Too many books have passed since I read this one and details are sketchy...which is always a good thing. It gives a reason to read it again.
