However I value my families life a hell of a lot more than that of someone who would injure them. As we live 4 miles off of the nearest paved road, and it would take the Sheriffs deputy an hour or more to get here, if they knew the way.

You would remove the most effecient means of defending my home and family. Apparently you do NOT value their life.
