I was wondering recently why transgender acceptance has happened before cross-dressing acceptance [View all]

In other words, there was never a major movement of straight men who wanted to be public figures while cross dressing, like there are now people like Transgender Inside Edition reporter Zoey Tur.

Any thoughts? I could speculate but that's all it would be.
