When my cousin lived upstate and the cats were indoor/outdoor cats, Gracie cried to go out in the snow.
Regret that it was in the days before cell-phone cameras because she would disappear into the snow and bounce out. She'd bounce all the way across the yard and it always took shaking the treat bag for a long time to convince her to come back in.

I cured my cat of wanting to sneak out by taking her out in a snowstorm & setting her in snow

That is my next step. I will say she only slips out during good weather, never the hard winter
