In the United States, measles has caused several deaths in recent outbreaks. By April 17, 2025, the CDC reported three measles-related deaths during the U.S. outbreak. The World Health Organization noted that one of these deaths occurred in Texas in an unvaccinated child, while another case in New Mexico was under investigation. By early October 2025, USAFacts also listed three confirmed U.S. measles deaths for the year. Beyond the United States, the Pan American Health Organization reported 13 measles deaths across the Americas by mid-June 2025, and in the European region, the WHO and UNICEF documented 38 measles deaths in 2024 based on preliminary data. Globally, the WHO estimated 107,500 measles deaths in 2023; however, comparable worldwide figures for 2024 and 2025 are not yet available, likely due to reporting delays or incomplete data collection. The number of deaths due to measles is sad and could be prevented. What is wrong with people?
