There aren't many good games that cater to women's interests. Most are marketing preteen girls, and they stupid, mindless serotypes about cooking, or finding a date, or getting married.
Suspense and mystery is one thing, but I hate horror genres with gratuitous violence, blood and gore, and endless destruction. I like to build, to see beautiful graphics, to meet interesting creatures. The Sims franchise is OK, although the newest version is not my favorite. Life is Strange has a strong female lead and nice graphics, its kinda weird but suspenseful, and its challenging.
Orwell is a very unusual, terrific mystery, and I'm looking forward to v.2. Its more a text based story with graphic stills and video clips more than animation, and the player is required to make input as the storyline advances through complicated plot twists and unexpected outcomes. The player can select male or female avatars to put in charge of an authoritarian world to determine which characters are arrested by the evil state, and who might escape to freedom, depending on which philosophy the player aligns with.
The Syberia series is another good adventure game with a strong female explorer who is on a long adventure. The graphics are beautiful, lots to see and explore, interesting characters, this is a good suspenseful mystery story with lots of possibilities.
I'd like to see a space based adventure games along the line of Star Trek Voyager or Deep Space Nine, where diplomacy and negotiation came before blow everything to hell.
