2012 long count [View all]

I've heard various theories on the long count Mayan calendar.

The overriding theory is that 12/21/12 has long since passed due to uncounted leap years. I get that.

However I've also read that the core belief of the long count calender is the "alignment" of the solar system with the rest of the galaxy will happen on 12/21/12 of our real time current calender.

Either way I'm placing all my money on everything being exactly the same on 12/22 as 12/21, but I've see huge arguments about this "Armageddon" date.

Inform me on this please.
