The Palestinians don't have a legitimate government and unless US and others get serious there will never be another elected government.

Basically right now is a death watch, waiting for Abu Mazen to kick the bucket. After that who knows. Probably a civil war between clans. This is not Israel's problem. The best possible outcome now is that Jordan absorbs the West Bank and coordinates with Israel. Problem with that is that Jordan is an insanely racist country who hate Jews. Bigotry is killing the possibility of peace.
