Russia's key oil port explodes in fireball after Ukrainian 'cruise missile attack' [View all]

Ukraine has struck one of Russia’s largest oil terminals as part of a huge overnight cruise missile and drone attack.

Blasts rocked the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, which appeared to have exploded in a fireball as Ukraine continues its assault on Russia’s energy infrastructure.

Russia has halted oil exports from the port, halting two per cent of all global supply, which a Ukrainian security official claimed could mean “millions of dollars less for the Kremlin’s war machine”.

Reports suggest Ukraine used its own Neptune long-range cruise missiles to take out the advanced air defence systems surrounding the port, clearing the way for its drones to target the oil infrastructure.
