1. it is super easy to home school here in TX -

I'm not sure what they are doing in NY, but down here many opted to just keep their kids home. I have a junior high student I pulled out and put in an online magnet. I would never have done that previously but he is high risk for covid so I couldn't send him to local school (in my suburban area half the people don't even believe covid is real - and that includes our superintendent). He will only go back to a brick and mortar school if (1) vaccine is available and (2) he really wants to go. I am not impressed with the district we're zoned to and even though it's a lot more work for me I'd rather keep him in an online school.
