Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 1,000 in Week Ending January 7

Washington, DC, January 12, 2023-In the week ending January 7, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 205,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor.

The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 204,000 to 206,000. The four-week moving average was 212,500, a decrease of 1,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 213,750 to 214,250.
